World Trade Month Begins
World Trade Month has arrived and events across the country that demonstrate appreciation for and celebrate decades of importing and exporting here in the United States are being planned. Businesses that operate in the importing and exporting sector all have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of their respective industries, gain insight into advantages and strategies that successful peers have implemented, and build their network to better benefit the overall health of the global supply chain.
In 1935 World Trade Week was established by President Roosevelt and has been recognized annually since 1948. He established that World Trade Week will always land on the third full week of May. A few short years later, May became World Trade Month and the industry has held this tradition since.
2022 brings plenty of excitement for businesses who function on the supply chain. The importing and exporting industry in the United States has shown steady and significant growth coming out of the pandemic and into this new chapter of economic stability.
